Guitar Masterclass / Workshop (all ages)

These programs — running between one and two hours — either can follow the format of a traditional masterclass (private lessons conducted in front of an audience) or it may follow the less formal workshop format in which all guests participate to whatever extent they wish. Both performers and audiences experience the benefits of private instruction as well as the opportunity to perform in public.

This program is wonderful for solo guitarists, guitar ensembles and mixed ensembles. After each performer or group plays for the MGQ and a public audience, MGQ members offer specific instruction about how the performer(s) might improve their performance. This may include tips on:

• achieving more technical proficiency

• developing increased musical understanding of the repertoire

• more effectively projecting one’s musical ideas for a more successful and expressive performance

• improving communication within an ensemble
